The Daily Events Building is a turn-of-the-century building that was
renovated in 2001. It is a mixed-use building that houses "The Daily
Events", FLAME Restaurant, and Lofts.
The Daily Events
is the oldest newspaper (established in 1881) in Greene County and one
of the oldest in Missouri. Throughout its long lifetime, the newspaper
has been dedicated to courthouse records, legal news, and legal
notices. Self-promotional ads in the 1930s encouraged any business that
extends credit to keep up with their customers by reading "The Daily
Events". That advice still applies today.
In addition to the
daily newspaper, several national publications are produced from the
same office under the name of Bareham & Saunders. They are: the
Football Green Book, the Hockey Black Book, and the Dental Adventure
Book.
